Liam and I took

Liam and I took the trip down to Orange County – or the “O.C.” – last
week to use up a timeshare at the Newport Coast Villas and Suites by
Marriott. Damn. Needless to say, the suite came with beautiful
accommodations and amenities, which included a fully furnished kitchen,
with dishwasher, stove, microwave, and fridge, two baths, with a hot
tub in the master bedroom, washer and dryer, and three tv’s. The resort
had three pools, basketball and tennis courts, a spa, and California’s
2nd wealthiest golf course. Unfortunately, we decided to spend more
time at the beaches than to explore these options. We spent one day on
Newport Beach, and the next at Laguna Beach, soaking up the sun,
playing basketball, and reflecting on the good life. In case you don’t
know, Orange County is the wealthiest county on the West Coast of North
America (probably South America as well), and it seemed that Newport
Beach is the wealthiest city in the County. It seemed like roads were
packed with SUV’s, pickup trucks, and luxury sports cars. Along Main
street in Newport Beach there was a yacht dealership next to a Ferrrari
dealership next to a Porsche / Bentley dealership (we didn’t try to
test-drive). For the whole picture gallery click here.
