29 Born Day
Another July 20 came and went, and as I was saying that whole day: “Gettin’ grown has never felt as good.”
I took the time to take stock of what’s happened to me over the past year, how much I’ve done so far in 2007, and account for everything that I still have left to accomplish this year (and life in general).
Even better was the chance to celebrate with many of the good people in my life, my crew, my old friends, my new friends, and all while sending good vibes into the universe and tapping into all that are out there. My love for good music, deep heavy bass, soul-claps, hot-sticky dance floors, and the feeling of exhaustion and exhiliration at 2am was re-awakaned - finally, in the form of Senegalese music at Little Baobob. I’ve been waiting for the summer to open up like that and with last Friday it just burst wide open.
On another note, July 20 reminded me to wish Frantz Fanon a happy birthday and to rest in Peace.
